We bought a piano. Somebody in the house is going to play it.
Maybe this happened, maybe it's a joke I've told so many times I forget that I made it up. Either way, I spent well over a decade studying the piano pretty much becuase I was the last of my sibling to propose quitting to do something else. That said, it's clear that it was theg reatest gift my family ever forced upon me.
The scales tipped in late in my high school years when I traded taking lessons against my will to late-night band rehearsals against my parents' wishes. Since then we've found an easy truce.
Through music I've seen virtually the entirety of Canada, the Caribbean, tour the USA and Alaska, met some of the greatest friends and inspirations of my life and even made a buck here and there.
